School Renovation    H&AI is currently providing Landscape Architectural and Arborist services for a new James Monroe Elementary School.  The new building is being built on the site of the former school and is being phased in so as not to have to relocate the students.  The site is rich with large existing evergreen trees and through careful site design and tree preservation specifications; we were able to save the vast majority of these trees.

Our  services include:

    •  Tree preservation plan and arborist report

    •  Design and specifications for outdoor classroom

    •  Design and specifications for rain water fed water feature

    •  Native, drought tolerant and low allergen plantings

    •  Seeding

    •  Planting design with “Filtera” storm water treatment in parking lot

    •  Playground design and under draining system

    •  Irrigation Design           

    •  Soil preparation and fertilization

Arborist Assessment    This well-established site required we provide a detailed tree assessment of 198 existing significant trees on site.  We developed a tree preservation plan and full arborist report to be used during construction to preserve most of these trees.

Start-to-Finish     We began work at the Schematic Design phase and have been actively involved through construction and close out as the Owner’s Representative for tree and landscape related issues. 

Our Landscape Architect and Arborist will provide construction administration services throughout construction, perform site inspections, monitor plant installations, and monitor plant health and systems operation post construction.
